Bukku alternative for LHDN e-Invoicing

Bukku is cheaper than us. Here is when to pay anyway

Bukku has a free plan that supports LHDN e-Invoice, paid accounting from RM35/month, and unlimited users on every tier. We are RM49/month, do not do accounting, and cap Starter at 2 users. If price is your question, stop here and use Bukku.

MyInvoisBridge

Broader scope, and a lower price. Bukku does more than we do and starts below our RM49/month. If price is what decides this, they win it.

We are the narrower tool. That is only worth paying for if the accounting half is something you do not want.

The short answer

Most small businesses reading this should use Bukku

That is not a rhetorical setup. Bukku publishes a free tier — RM0/month, unlimited users — that states it supports LHDN E-Invoice. If you need LHDN compliance and nothing more complicated, that is a better offer than ours and you should take it. We do not have a free plan and are not building one.

There are three specific reasons to pay us instead, and they are narrow: you need a documented REST API with OAuth and webhooks; you need self-billed documents; or you deliberately do not want your invoicing living inside a second accounting system. If none of those is you, the rest of this page is for completeness.

Choose Bukku when

  • You want LHDN e-Invoicing for free. Bukku's Launch tier is RM0/month and states it supports LHDN E-Invoice — we have no free tier and no plan to add one.
  • You need actual accounting: Seed at RM35/month adds purchase tracking, bank feeds, 50+ financial reports, a fixed-asset register and single-location inventory.
  • You have a team. Every Bukku plan includes unlimited users; our Starter includes 2.
  • You want a longer look before committing — Bukku publishes a 30-day free trial of Elite, their top tier.
  • You may qualify for the government subsidy of up to 50% or RM5,000 that Bukku publishes, or NGO and multi-company discounts.
  • You want one system for books and compliance rather than two subscriptions.

Choose MyInvoisBridge when

  • Your books already live somewhere you are happy with, and adding a second accounting system to get e-Invoicing is the thing you are trying to avoid.
  • You need a REST API with OAuth and webhooks, published and documented — Bukku's pricing pages state no API.
  • You need self-billed documents, which we ship on Pro.
  • Your document volume is steady and you want a published monthly allowance rather than Bukku's per-plan “recommended transactions” guidance.
  • You want e-Invoicing depth — validation before submission, a per-document event timeline, status tracking through to Valid or Invalid — rather than e-Invoicing as one feature inside a broader accounting product.
Which one is for you?

Pick the line that sounds like your business

Two of these four point at Bukku. On this page that is not generosity — it is arithmetic.

MyInvoisBridge fits

Your books are not the problem — LHDN is. Keep what you have and add e-Invoicing beside it, from RM49/month, with no migration.

Promotion currently running: MyInvoisBridge is offering 30% off as a limited-time launch offer, which reduces the Starter plan below the RM49 list price shown above for as long as the offer lasts. The comparison on this page deliberately uses our list price, not the promotional price, so that it stays a like-for-like comparison against the competitor’s regular published rate. Last verified: 16 July 2026 against Bukku — pricing plans and Bukku — compare plans.

RM35/month is Bukku's regular monthly rate for Seed, their entry PAID plan. Bukku also publishes a genuinely free tier — Launch, at RM0/month — which states “Supports LHDN E-Invoice”. Bukku's entry price is therefore lower than ours at every level, and free at the bottom.

Bukku publishes RM350/year for Seed against RM35/month — roughly RM29/month if you pay annually, about two months free on a twelve-month term. Every paid tier follows the same 10-months-for-12 pattern: Grow RM650/year, Prime RM950/year, Elite RM1,350/year.

Bukku's published ladder is Launch RM0, Seed RM35, Grow RM65, Prime RM95 and Elite RM135 per month, all plus 8% SST, all with unlimited users. Monthly and annual billing are both published. Bukku states its plans can be “customised with modular add-ons”: Malaysia SST support RM12/month, multi-currency RM12/month, extra storage RM5/month, additional emails RM5/month, document extractions RM8/month. On Seed and Grow, SST and multi-currency are paid add-ons rather than included — a Seed plan needing both is RM59/month before SST rather than the RM35 headline.

Prices and plan features may change. Verify the latest information directly with each provider before purchasing.

Bukku’s published ladder, verified on their pricing page on 16 July 2026: Launch at RM0, Seed at RM35, Grow at RM65, Prime at RM95, Elite at RM135 — all monthly, all plus 8% SST, all with unlimited users. Annual billing is ten months charged for twelve on every tier, so Seed is RM350/year, about RM29/month.

Ours is RM49, RM99 and RM199 monthly, also excluding SST, with 2, 5 and 15 users respectively. On every directly comparable number — entry price, seat count, annual discount, trial length — Bukku is ahead. We are not going to dress that up.

One caveat worth knowing rather than a point in our favour: on Seed and Grow, Malaysia SST support and multi-currency are paid add-ons at RM12/month each, so a Seed plan needing both is really RM59/month plus SST. That is still a full accounting system, and it is still competitive. It just means the RM35 headline is not the whole story if you need SST reporting.

Bukku also publishes government subsidies of up to 50% or RM5,000 for eligible companies, NGO discounts up to 25%, and bulk discounts above five companies. We have no equivalent programme. Check your eligibility with them.

The free tier

What RM0 actually gets you

Bukku’s Launch plan is a real free tier, not a time-limited trial in disguise. Per their pricing page it includes E-Invoice support, sales tracking, payment gateway integrations, contact management, a limited dashboard, Bukku Store and Bukku MiniPOS, with unlimited users, 100MB of file storage, a 100/month email quota, and a recommended 50 transactions per month.

It does not include purchase tracking, inventory, financial reports, bank feeds or the Digital Shoebox — those start at Seed. So it has a genuine ceiling. But for a micro business that needs to issue LHDN-compliant invoices and little else, the ceiling may be well above where you are operating.

We think you should try it before you pay us anything. If it covers you, we have nothing to sell you that you need. The honest reasons it might not cover you: no API, no self-billed documents, and the 50-transactions-a-month guidance if your volume is higher — Seed’s guidance is 400/month, and our Starter’s published cap is 100/month.

Product scope

A wider product that also costs less

Every other accounting suite in this cluster costs more than us, which makes the scope argument straightforward: they do more, so they charge more, and if you do not need the extra you should not pay for it. Bukku breaks that pattern. They do more and charge less.

Seed at RM35 gives you purchase tracking, bank feeds, a fixed-asset register, single-location inventory, journal entry tracking, the Digital Shoebox and 50+ financial reports. We give you none of those at RM49, because we are not accounting software. There is no version of this comparison where we represent better value per feature.

So the question is not value per feature. It is whether you want an accounting system at all. Some businesses have books that already work — an accountant who has run them for years, a system that is fine, a process nobody wants to disturb — and for them a second accounting product is not a bonus, it is a distraction with a login. That is the only ground on which we compete here, and it is narrower ground than we have against AutoCount or SQL.

REST API, OAuth client credentials and webhooks are available on the MyInvoisBridge Pro plan (RM199/month) and are not included in Starter or Business. “Not publicly confirmed” means the vendor does not state it plainly on their official pages — it is not a “no”, and you should ask them.

LHDN e-Invoice workflow

Four steps, and nothing else

Bukku runs LHDN submission as one feature inside an accounting product. For us it is the whole product — which matters only if the depth shows up somewhere you care about: validation before sending, a per-document event timeline, and status tracked through to Valid or Invalid.

01

Create the document

Raise an invoice, credit note, debit note or refund note in the app, or push it in over the REST API on Pro.

02

Validate before sending

We check the fields LHDN requires up front, so a rejection is caught at your desk rather than after submission.

03

Submit to MyInvois

The document is mapped to UBL 2.1 and submitted to LHDN over an authenticated connection — sandbox first, production when you are ready.

04

Track what happened

Poll status through to Valid or Invalid, with a full event timeline per document, so you can see exactly what LHDN accepted, rejected, or is still processing.

That loop is the entire product. Bukku runs its own e-Invoice submission inside a much larger accounting system — if you are already working in it, that path is likely the one to use.

Trial and onboarding

Theirs is longer, ours is narrower

Bukku publishes a 30-day free trial of Elite — their top tier, RM135/month worth of product, with no credit card. Ours is 14 days of the plan you are evaluating, no credit card, with guided onboarding into the LHDN pre-production sandbox.

Theirs is more generous on both length and product. Ours is built around one question: does the LHDN submission path work for your documents? You can answer that in an afternoon in the sandbox, before anything real is submitted. See the sandbox guide for what that involves.

If you are evaluating both, the sensible order is obvious: try Bukku’s free plan first, since it costs nothing and might simply be the answer. Come to us if you hit one of the three walls — API, self-billed, or not wanting a second accounting system.

Plans and pricing

What our plans cost, for completeness

RM49 Starter is the plan compared against Bukku Seed above. The Pro plan at RM199 is where the API, webhooks and self-billed documents live — the capabilities that constitute most of the honest case for choosing us over a cheaper, broader product.

When Bukku is the better choice

More often than not, frankly

Choose Bukku if you want LHDN e-Invoicing at no cost. Their Launch tier is RM0 and states it supports LHDN E-Invoice. We charge RM49 for a narrower product. For a micro business or a startup, that comparison is not close.

Choose Bukku if you need accounting — and if you are a young business, you probably will within the year. Seed at RM35 gives you books, bank feeds, purchase tracking and 50+ reports. Buying accounting once, with e-Invoice included, beats paying us and buying accounting later as well.

Choose Bukku if you have a team. Unlimited users on every plan, including the free one, against 2 on our Starter and 5 on Business. If seats are what you are optimising for, this row alone decides it.

Choose Bukku if you might qualify for the government subsidy they publish — up to 50% or RM5,000 for eligible companies — or the NGO and multi-company discounts. We publish nothing comparable.

When MyInvoisBridge is the better fit

Three narrow cases, stated plainly

You need a documented REST API. Bukku’s pricing and plan-comparison pages state no API. We are not going to assert its absence on their behalf — ask them — but we can tell you ours is on Pro at RM199/month, with OAuth client credentials, webhooks and public documentation. If your own system needs to drive submissions, that is a real and checkable difference.

You need self-billed documents. Live on our Pro plan today. Bukku does not state support for them. If you are paying suppliers who cannot issue their own e-Invoices — common in manufacturing and agriculture supply chains — see the self-billed invoice guide for what LHDN requires.

You do not want a second accounting system. If your books are settled — with an accountant, or in a system you have run for years — then adopting Bukku for e-Invoicing means either running invoicing separately from your actual books, or migrating the books too. Some businesses will happily do that. Others want the compliance handled without disturbing anything, and that is what we are.

Migration

Keep your existing accounting system

Getting full value from Bukku means putting your books in it: chart of accounts, opening balances, bank feeds, history. That is a migration, and it is the point of the product. Adopting MyInvoisBridge involves none of it, because we never hold your books.

How documents get into MyInvoisBridge today:

  • Manual creation — available now, on every plan.
  • REST API — available now on Pro, with OAuth client credentials and webhooks.
  • CSV import — coming soon. Not shipped. Do not buy on the strength of it.

There is no native Bukku connector, and none is planned. Anything automated between Bukku and MyInvoisBridge would be an integration your developer builds against our API — which, given Bukku already includes LHDN e-Invoice, would be an unusual thing to want.

FAQ

Bukku and MyInvoisBridge, answered

Is MyInvoisBridge cheaper than Bukku?

No. Bukku is cheaper, and at the entry level it is free. Their Launch plan is RM0/month and states it supports LHDN E-Invoice; their entry paid plan, Seed, is RM35/month against our RM49 — and Seed includes accounting features we do not have at all. Both figures were verified on Bukku's pricing page on 16 July 2026. If price is your deciding factor, this comparison has a clear winner and it is not us.

If Bukku has a free e-Invoice plan, why would I pay for MyInvoisBridge?

For most small businesses starting out, that is a fair question and Bukku's free tier may well be the right answer. The reasons to pay us instead are specific: you need a documented REST API with OAuth and webhooks, which Bukku does not publish; you need self-billed documents; you want validation, a document event timeline and status tracking as the product rather than as a feature inside an accounting suite; or you do not want your invoicing living inside a second accounting system at all. If none of those describe you, start with Bukku's free plan. We would rather you did that than pay us for something you do not need.

What does Bukku's free Launch plan actually include?

Per Bukku's pricing page: E-Invoice support, sales tracking, payment gateway integrations, contact management, a limited dashboard, Bukku Store and Bukku MiniPOS, with unlimited users, 100MB file storage, a 100/month email quota and a recommended 50 transactions per month. It does not include purchase tracking, inventory, financial reports or bank feeds — those start at Seed. So it is a real free tier with a real ceiling, not a disguised trial.

Does Bukku's price include SST?

No. Bukku prints “+ 8% SST” against its plan prices, so RM35 for Seed is about RM37.80 all-in. Our RM49 also excludes SST where applicable, per our own pricing page. Compare tax-inclusive against tax-inclusive on both sides — Bukku is still the cheaper of the two after tax.

Do I get unlimited users on both?

On Bukku, yes — unlimited users on every plan including the free one. On MyInvoisBridge, no: Starter includes up to 2 users, Business up to 5, Pro up to 15. If you have a larger team and seats are what you are optimising for, Bukku wins that row outright.

Does Bukku have an API?

Not that we can confirm. Bukku's pricing and plan-comparison pages state no API, and we are not going to assert its absence on their behalf — ask them. Ours is on Pro at RM199/month: a REST API with OAuth client credentials and webhooks, with public documentation. If you need to drive submissions from your own system, that is a difference worth checking directly with Bukku before deciding.

Is Bukku's 30-day trial better than your 14-day one?

On length and scope, yes. Bukku gives you 30 days of Elite — their RM135/month top tier — with no credit card. Ours is 14 days of the plan you are evaluating, no credit card, with guided LHDN sandbox onboarding. Theirs gives you longer and more product. Ours is built to answer one question fast: do your documents pass LHDN validation? Both let you evaluate without paying, and the sensible order is to try Bukku's free plan first since it costs nothing at all.

Can I use both?

You could, but think carefully about why. Bukku already includes LHDN e-Invoice on every plan including the free one, so running us in front of it duplicates something you already have. The combination only makes sense if you specifically need our API, our self-billed documents, or our validation and tracking workflow while keeping your books in Bukku. For most businesses, one or the other is the right answer.

Compare other e-Invoice options

All eight comparisons are on the e-Invoice alternatives hub. If you are weighing accounting suites specifically, Financio publishes per-plan e-Invoice limits worth comparing against Bukku’s transaction guidance.

Need e-Invoicing, not another accounting migration?
